Camaro vs Porsche Twin Turbo

So I changed the title since I posted the video of my 12.19 run against a Porsche Twin Turbo. Car is certainly capable of much more than I got out of it. Everyone shaking their head that I should have done better than a 12.19 best time. My first run was a 13.75 (lol). I spun bad at the line and hit the rev limiter in the first three gears. Second run was the best at 12.19. Was really hoping to break into the 11's but it didnt happen.

So I need advice. I have a set of pirelli 315/25 ZR22's on the back of my car and they dont bite worth a darn. Most of the guys said that if I would put a smaller wheel/tire on the car with some good dr's or slicks then it would be a low 11 sec car. Dont know if it would make that much difference with me driving it, but maybe. The car has Brembo's on all 4 corners so just how small of a rim can I go to that will fit over those big Brembo's? 18" maybe?

Thanks for any help you can give.

If you go the cheap route 18 x 9.5 with 40mm offset( no spacer needed) will work from a vette. You can go down to 17's but it's a lot more expensive

I just had an 11.67 without a cam or heads (48WHP based on your 625WHP vs my 577WHP)last night on street tires. There was more there too.....still getting used to launching this car myself as I have only a few total passes. Practice man, that's all it is. Gotta figure one thing out at a time before figuring out the next issue

I am sure you are right about the practice issue. Even with the 22's the car should be running in the 11's. My best 60' time was basically 2.0 flat but once I got moving the car came on strong at the end.

Quick ET's can be had on street tires, but to get all that hp to the ground, a drag radial will be your best choice. 22' wheels aren't helping any. Don't know if you're auto or manual, but learning to launch takes a little time. Relax and enjoy the practice; lots of it.

I'm guessing you have a manual trans if you have 4.11's.

That's a lot of power and torque to hook, I'd look into a slick or drag radial, 17" or 18". Even if you don't launch real hard the stickier tire will help you run big mph. Looks like you should go mid 120's in mph or higher.

Yes I am manual. I averaged 120 mph with 122 mph my best trap speed.

Very first run was absolutely terrible. I spun at the line and hit the rev limiter in the first three gears. My second run was the 12.19 so I was thinking that I had 11's in the bag, but I made a couple more mid to low 12's runs even hitting the rev limiter scattered in there. Oh well, I had fun. May try it again sometime.
