Cowl hood- Visibility an issue?

I picked up a '15 black 1LS last fall about 2000 miles before the snow started coming down here in MI, so it's been hibernating in my barn next to my wife's Miata until spring comes.

Even if I have to sell a kidney to get it, there will be a cowl hood on it come spring. I still haven't decided on which one yet, but leaning towards the Harwood bolt on 3" rise.

I have spent hours looking over most of the threads on the aftermarket hoods, but have not seen many people complain about one creating (another) blind spot/vision issues. I laid a couple small boxes on top of my hood to roughly simulate a taller cowl, and I'm still undecided if it will be an issue.

For those of you who have an aftermarket "COPO" style hood, what are your experiences?

Thanks,

Carl

I have the harwood 3" and the visability does change a little bit. Harder to see the right side of the nose. I run a radar detector under the mirror and lost almost all visability there...needless to say i will not be running a radar detector anymore. But the hood is fine for line of sight.

damn, i would move the detector up high to the right (or left, if you need to see it) of the mirror. it is ok if it is behind tint, as long as the tint is not metallic.

Thanks for the pic Sick, just what I wanted to see.

It really doesn't look as much of an issue as I thought it may be. I'm 5'9", so I'm not super short, but not hitting my head on the roof either.

Thanks again for the pic.

I've got the COPO CF hood from the Moreno Bros. Its made by Seibon. See the pic. its tall, four inches I think and it does block the front right side. You just gotta kind of feel your way around. I absolutely love it though and a glad I got it.

Looks like they weren't taken from quite the same angle, but gives me a better idea of the line of sight.

Thanks again.
