2010 Clutch Sucks

I love just about everything about my new SS but the clutch pedal feel down right sucks! The cam like feel is about as bad as they could make it. It pops out at just the wrong time making the car very hard to drive at a normal speed. Now when jamming through gears it's not a big deal but around town driving is tough and annoying to say the least.

Is there any way to fix or ease this issue?

P.S. the drivers side mirror is terrible with the beveled edge distorting the view. Aside from these two things the car is a winner in every way.

Buy a new clutch and pressure plate and install one of these...

I don't know, my clutch is probably a little tighter than other cars I have driven, but it feels just fine to me. 71XX miles and counting.

The clutch is a downgrade from the vette. Probably that way on purpose so we don't break half shafts.

Take it to the dealer. Let them drive it. There's a lot of people who complain about the clutch when there are really no problems at all. Take it to the dealer first before doing anything drastic.

Regarding the mirror, you will get used to it.

Had same problem with my clutch sticking. Took it to the dealer in March. They replaced everything and clutch was driving fine until the past 2 weeks. It appears that the cold weather has something to do with it as every morning I have to lift the clutch pedal off the floor to bring it back to its proper position. Takes a while it seems to "warm up" before it starts engaging normally.

I think I've decided I want an aftermarket clutch, but don't want to shell out the extra money if it won't solve the problem.

You didn't happen to be one of the people that decided to take off the return spring were you?

To the OP...
Really there are only 3 options:

1- replace it with something you like
2- get used to it
3- don't drive something with a clutch

Just to be clear, the clutch itself is fine. I just hate the cam like feel when the pedal comes off the floor. It seems to spring back just as it's engaging causing a rough/jerky grab, if that makes sense. It can be driven smooth but requires a lot more effort than anything I have ever drove before, even 9 sec race cars.

To the poster who commented about the return spring, please explain what this is and what it does??? I am the second owner but the car was like new when I bought it (810 miles).

I had the same problem with my SS, from day one. After putting up with the problem for nine months, I finally took it to a dealer. They eventually found out that the slave cylinder had an internal leak, and replaced it. The clutch feel is great now -- no bizarre springiness.

Note that the dealer initially thought that there was no problem with the clutch. I had to convince the service manager to do something, and he opted for a TSB involving re-torquing the clutch plate bolts. They found the leak only after dropping the transmission to re-torque those bolts.
