Camaro Running on Reduced Power?!?!

Driving up the El Camino in San Mateo this afternoon returning home from the car show when my 2SS/ RS starts shaking like I'm in a 6.0 earthquake. The DIC states the car is Running on Reduced Power and the TCS light is on in the tach window.

Tried to leave the stop light I was at and had Zero acceleration. Maxed out at 25 mph and pulled off the El Camino to call AAA. Towed the wounded car to Putnam Chevy in Burlingame (Stewart in Colma has no service department on Saturday). On Star diagnostic said there was an issue with the throttle control system. Dealership told me it runs on half power to reduce heat build up in the engine when a problem occurs.

Playing the waiting game to see what the problem is all about. Probably won't hear anything until Monday...ugh...

ugh I'm sorry on two accounts...

1. Your car is injured.
2. You're dealing with Putnam...

Hope all works out.

Rather deal with Putnam than Stewart. Service not even open on Saturday. My car would have to sit out in sketchy Colma until Monday. No freaking way!

The only place I would trust in the bay area doing warranty work is fremont. Novato is the other place, but they're not "bay area" imho.

My intent is to take my car to Fremont for the maintenance and warranty work. This was a painfully unexpected turn of events. When weighing taking my car to either Stewart or Putnam Chevrolet during this emergency crisis I chose Putnam. My only experience with Stewart Chevrolet was so horrible I will NEVER take my car there again.

That is exactly what happened. The dealership called this morning and said they had to replace the throttle body and were ordering a new one. The car should be ready by tomorrow.

Had the throttle body replaced which did not solve the issue. Now they are ordering an ECV to see if that solves the problem. That will not arrive for two days. I sure hope that is the solution to the problem.

Man, that sucks. Hopefully that is the problem and it's solved.

Was there any resolution with this? My car has seen this three times now. they state its a throttle control valve and there is a service bulliten to apply some de-electric grease to the system.

However it keeps coming back, anyone see anything new?

The initial diagnosis was the throttle control valve. That was an obvious error. The dealership then had to get permission to order a new ECM from the engineers to replace my original ECM. The brain essentially fried itself requiring a replacement.

You more than likely need to have the ECM pulled and replaced.
