Texas Speed Long Tube Headers

Does anyone have any experience with Texas Speed 1 7/8 lt headers? I was thinking about putting them on my 2013 2SS with stock NPP on the back half. I mainly want to know how much louder it would get without cats. Videos would be great if you have them.

Also, what can I expect for power gains?

First of all, welcome to the forums!

There’s many people who have put TSP long tube headers with the NPP catback. Personally I think long tubes with the factory NPP exhaust is one of the best exhaust combos out there. It will make it noticeably louder, but it will sound great. The question is do you want to go with high flow cats or catless? Going catless will add more rasp and probably won’t pass Illinois especially Chicago area inspections. Power differences are negligible between high flow cats and catless connection pipes so it all boils down to what your budget allows. You will need to get a tune to get rid of the check engine light (CEL) that you will get when you put the headers on. Power gains are between 25 and 45 rwhp depending on the dyno, weather conditions, etc.

If I went with these headers, would I need to get them ceramic coated or would they be fine without them?

I wish I would have went with ceramic coating. It reduces the under hood temps a bunch.

If not getting the ceramic coated version, I would invest in a set of heat resistant spark plug cables or heat resistant boots, my Taylor 409 wires are holding up great to my Kooks LTs.

You don't have to but it keeps the aesthetics up and under hood temps down.
