Cerakote trim restore - any experience?
https://www.amazon.com/CERAKOTE-Cera...xoC6K0QAvD_BwE
Like others, I too want to get the dull black plastic back to it's original glory. Has anyone had any experience with this stuff? My neighbor in the old hood used to paint his guns with this stuff, and he's a picky person. So I know the name is good, just not sure if that particular product is legit. I'd hope it goes on well, because I bet it's a PITA to remove once cured. |

I've no experience with the Cerakote product, but unless there's some black dye in it I'm not sure how well it'll do. I did have some luck on the black plastic body cladding on a Volvo wagon with just a ceramic trim coating from Adam's, however the lighter tiger striping was still visible on the plastic.
I have had some success with his Ceramic Black Trim Restore

I used it on the quarter panel window frames on my Fiero over the summer. One coat lasted a little over a month in the 90s.

The product that the shop used when they ceramic coated the car didn't last at all. Nebraska winter has them back to looking dull. Definitely going to try this stuff in the spring.

I haven't used this product but have heard from some of my detailer friends that it streaks really bad on black plastics.
Try Carpro CQuartz Dlux Wheel & Trim Coating instead. No streaks, no shiny spots, nice even finish.

I'll give that stuff a shot. The last thing I want is streaky finish on there. Thanks for the heads up!
