Mine look bad also. The lug area deteriorated quickly after getting my car. I think the brake dust is eating the finish and/or wheel surface.

I purchased my Z used, it has the 5 spoke polished wheels. The clear coat and the silver painted areas, mostly in the barrel of the wheels, are pitted. I think this is from brake dust that the previous owned didn't clean off the wheels often enough. What I would like to know has anyone tried the DIY approach and cleaned them up and re-clear coated them?

Tried to get mine covered under warranty. Too much of a hassle. Finally changed out the brake pads to carbon fiber ceramic. Bit the bullet and having my 5 spoke polished aluminium PVD powder coated chrome by Detroit Wheel and Tire.

Hey There

Is the thing to do for the fix is to change to carbon ceramic pads? Do I need to have the rotors turned fresh finish to get the pads to seat correctly?

Thanks,
Ed
