So, I saw a thread somewhere wherein someone mentioned the possible resurrection of the IROC Z.

Then I come in here and I see an LS under a hood, but nothing else made sense... alternator up high, battery under the hood, no fuse box, air cleaner on the wrong side, radiator fill port in the wrong place, different grill and hood latch etc.....

I finally went back and looked and saw you have what appears to be an LS swapped IROC which is cool as hell in any book...

I’ll try to keep up from now on... miss one day of school and I’m miles behind the class...

Please carry on as you were...
I purchased the IROC-Z about 3 years ago as a project car. My initial plan was to teach my son how to rebuild the original engine. Unfortunately, I learned that he does not like to get grease under his fingernails. So after reading several threads on different forums I decided to do with an LS Swap. It has a complete Cruise & Connect LS3 / 480 HP package that I purchased from Chevrolet. It's amazing how many kits are available to do an LS Swap for Gen 3 Camaro's!

It's taken a little over 3 years, I've done most of the work myself but I'm on the home stretch now. Just need to get it painted and install the interior. I'm hoping to have it ready for the Daytona Turkey Run Car Show that starts Thanksgiving Day - But that is probably being a little optimistic!

Here's the link to my thread in the Third Gen Section:

My wife is coming out of a Kia Soul that has served us extremely well. Here in AZ, Souls are pretty common now, no longer quirky. Today will probably be the last day she drives it regularly. I'll clean it up and put it up for sale.

My son seems bummed as the Soul was the last vehicle we owned that was brought out here from Maryland when we moved.

When I make it down to Florida, I want a ride in it.... Loved those cars, and the power you have put in it is way more than any of them I ever rode in had....

I always enjoyed watching the IROC races.... I'm headed to read your thread....

Thats a very generous offer, and while tempting, I'm not big on driving others folks hot rods....

I understand the trust factor, I could replace anything damaged, but that's your baby....

I don't ever want to be that guy..... Call me weird.... I'm thrilled with a ride....

Eventful day here. Plan was to do laundry, make some brownies & straighten the moving mess to get ready for my daughter who was coming home for her class reunion. Mike was taking the truck to get brake pads & waiting for our driveway ramps to be delivered (for the 4th day in a row). He got a call that more documents were needed for our home buying process requiring me to bring him some things. In the meantime he got a call that the rotors on the truck were rusted & in terrible shape & the repair was $750. On my way to take him the documents, when I started Ruby she was running really rough then the check engine light came on. When I got there I checked under the hood & the plexi on my CAI intake top had come of & was dangling over the air filter. I was able to put it back together & get home but not sure it will stay. I contacted CAI inc to try for a solution.

But Jina is home & this day is winding down. Tomorrow is a new day.

Wow, that was an eventful day! Hope things get better.

A buddy and I were to drive up to Sedona today and spend the weekend up there. The Sedona Car Club is having their annual car show this weekend. However, my buddy is under doctor's orders to rest and heal after his recent surgery. So I will be staying home this weekend, which I really don't mind. Have to prepare the Kia Soul to sell, and my HHR is filthy. Garage is too. My buddy has at least a week or so to heal up.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Well Jina's Class Reunion went well & she had fun. She is not feeling well today though with her Sjogren's Syndrone acting up on top of female issues. Packing is kicking my butt but at least this time moving there is no hurry & I can just stop when I'm tired. More to pack tomorrow,.……& the next day & the next...………….you get it. But an awful lot has already been packed or gotten rid of. Just amazed at the crap you accumulate in 30years plus some stuff from the 30 years before that. But no more unexpected expenses & things seem to be staying on track for the house purchase.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend.

I remember packing and downsizing when we moved out here. Living here going on nine years!

So it's a good thing I did not drive up to Sedona! Good news, sold the Kia Soul! Bad news, had another acute kidney stone episode, ended up in the ER! I thought I was done with these. :(

Moving / Packing is definitely a pain! At least you don't have a deadline to meet. Not looking forward to the day we sell our house......
