Headers and tune a mistake?

My 2014 ZL1 has a Zmax throttlebody and Roto Fab intake. I've been watching a lot of people mod their cars with a lot of different kinds of parts, but realize that I'm only interested in Kooks LT Headers and high flow cats.

1. Will it be too loud? (I have pulled the fuse and don't think it's loud enough)
2. Easy install?

Thanks in advanced.

easy install and not too loud with cats and the fuse in place. No cats & no fuse is very loud.

They're a good upgrade. They'll definitely make it louder, but not too loud, at least IMO. I would suggest a M2W switch so you can switch between loud and quieter for highway trips.

Feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions.

Best regards,

Also if you feel it's too loud add the Magnaflow resonated X pipe in place of the factory H pipe. I got mine from Tyler @ JDP (see above post) for my 1LE with NPP. I know the ZL1 has bigger pipes. 3" vs 2.5" ? Not sure of that makes a difference.

It took the car from 25 y/o volume to "Shit I'm 40..." Level.... LoL

Stock ZL-1s have the same size cat/back exhaust pipes as Camaro SS, which is 2.5". The Z28 has 2.75" exhaust.

Thanks, I knew one of them was bigger.

The resonated X is a good solution if you find the exhaust to be too loud....

I honestly don't know but its minimal at best. To give you an idea I have a 2013 1LE and all I have is bolt one ie... Vmax ported TB, ADM intake, Pfadt LT with high flow cats, and the X pipe going into NPP exhaust. When Jeremy Formato gave me a tune it put down 432/422. I feel like its stronger than most comparable cars...

Honestly the car never really had drone. I think that's more because of the NPP.

What the X does is take it from loud and harsh to less loud and more deep sounding. Figure it drops the volume from a 10 to a 7 and really refines the sound.

The week in drove the car with the LTs on the stock H pipe every where I went people had to look my way especially on start up. It was almost like I felt the exhaust too.

For the x pipe from Tyler and spent $50 to have it welded in and it is a million tomes better and more enjoyable. I get tons of comments about how great the car sounds and it still loud but very reasonable.

what are the typical RWHP gains w/long tube headers, hi-flow cats, and Roto-Fab cai mods only w/tune? (for an auto ZL1)

Is your car auto or manual? If manual did the x-pipe help with the cackle sound on deceleration. That is my main complaint about the headers and NPP, well and the pop on shifting.
