Yes, I was running 11.7 on the first setup. My new 416 is getting bumped to about 12.5 and the new cam specs are going to be 242/257 .648/.630

502HP/430TQ

Here are the results. The baseline run was the first vvt max package cam. We started with a 229/250 well "490hp is not 500hp!!" This setup just wanted more cam. So after a quick cam swap (233/252) this is where we landed. Along with more intake and exhuast duration we went to a 112 lsa and picked up some PtV. Aaron and Ryan wanted a package that would put 500 to the tire that had good midrange without fly cutting and drove great while keeping the VVT. Well this is it! This car was base lined at 340hp and with the Max Package and all the supporting bolt ons I gained 162hp to the tire.

Did you go l99 to ls3 conversion as well or is it still a l99 motor?

Well the Ls3 Max package in Arch's manual car put down 519hp on 93
So 17hp lost to the auto in my L99 but he had a bit more compression and I have a bit more cam. Talk to Aaron@GPI see what he thinks but that 80e changes the whole game if your hunting for numbers.

Yeah that’s what is gonna make it interesting since there are a couple different variables between you and Arch. My goal is to buy the max package this winter, but when GPI picks the cam I won’t be able to pull and put in another one as I will probably order the parts and have the work done in Texas. So the cam that is chosen is what it will be and the numbers will be what they are. I am not really chasing a number but think it would be cool to get a 5xx, but will be happy with high 4s. I am a bracket racer so I just want some consistent ETs.

Well this was the first L99 max so the first cam was just that "the first one" there was no other baselines available for this combo. So you have to start somewhere so instead of calling it good enough we chose to try a another cam which resulted in cracking 500. This was some R&D for the package now that it has proven itself in the L99 this will be the cam that will be part of the package as far as I know.

Makes sense. I was only saying my combo will be slightly different so the cam GPI thinks will be best at the time when I buy the package will be the one I get. Pretty cool you guys got to be the R&D cars so you can figure out the right combos.

Yes it was! Working with Aaron and Ryan was a trip. These guys are extremely dedicated and highly motivated. I have no doubt that Aaron can help you with your build.
