BREMER Sequential Shifter

BREMER released their new sequential shifter at SEMA this year. So I did what any obsessed gearhead would do. I preordered it for my '15 Z28. Should be a really fun setup. In addition to my MSD Air Force intake, Kooks 2" Catless Longtubes, TSP LS7R cam and valvetrain should make for a really fun weekend track monster.

Please pardon my ignorance, but does it shift by going back and forth only? If so, what's the point?

All UP shifts are by pulling back on the handle and reverse for downshifts. It's not a rocker motion like some previous designs. Prevents any missed shifts, makes No lift shifts easier and more precise and prevents possible trans damage. And it's ****ing gorgeous.

It was either that or spend more and have CCW build me set of custom classics lol. Plus I like having a rare car with an even rarer setup. You ever see something you just HAVE to have? Lol

I've never needed help making a shift in the proper gear. Why not just pull your manual transmission out and install an auto?

You guys drive your cars on the road course, right? A lot, or just once to say you did??

I track my car every chance I get. Do you not understand the advantage of a sequential trans? Does the possibility of a missed shift not exist in your world. It's convenient having a sequential shifter, it's fun and it's unique. That's enough reason to get excited over a new development.

It goes without saying you will have to remove the 1 to 4 skip shift that is pre programmed into the car. Are you considering straight cut gears and trying to eliminate clutch use except standing starts and reverse? Do you think the stock clutch wear will be worse? How will you accomplish a true no lift shift? I would love to have an EMCO set up in my car like the LG Motorsports vette.

^^ This. The moment my pocket book says I can, I will be splurging on an sequential trans. Id really like to pick up a second Z at some point for exclusive track use, so I can still have one for the street.

The TKO 6 speed in the Z/28 shifts way faster than the older TKO 5 speed that I have in my Chevelle. I am way faster on the 6 speed and never miss a 2nd to 3rd shift. It seems like a perfect manual 6 speed.... I cannot say that for my TKO 5 speed.... The video is cool... why is the stick so long ? Unfortunately, it kind of reminds me of paddle shifters that are all the rage now, even in luxury cars...

Leverage (i.e. short throw) and less time to move hand from wheel to shifter back to wheel for car control. Watch some in car camera footage from Australian V8 Supercars and you will quickly understand the benefits. Sequntial shifters also reduce risk on a bumpy / rough track where miss shifts with an H pattern gear box are more likely to happen. Notice in the L.G. video there is still some clutch work occuring.
