2007 Vette 6m, or stick with 10 2SS 6m?
So I've got my Camaro on order, but started looking around at Corvettes just for shits and giggles due to those "Corvette vs Camaro" threads that I've seen lately.
I found on a local craigslist ad (LINK) what seems like a nice Vette. Its a 2007 and loaded but without Nav. I started to think about it only because the 10-day payoff is $39,592.89...and I know that Vette's retain their value very very well. I also feel very bad for the guy since he lost his job. We're all Chevy folks here...if the backseat wasn't an issue, what would you do?

I would go with Vette but that is my VERY biased opinion.
HOWEVER.... You can get a C6 in a much better deal that that. Here is a very quick example. 2008 - 8K miles $38,899k and from a dealer which is usually more expensive. http://www.carmax.com/enUS/view-car/...a-0f1d52c4e025 Same price, only 2k miles http://www.carmax.com/enUS/view-car/...a-0f1d52c4e025 My point is do more research and you can find much better deals on Vettes. I think you were the guy coming from an Evo? If so I would look into one with a Z51 package which will improve handling alot. Also 2007 = LS2 engine (400 fwhp), a 2008 and above will come with the LS3 (430 fwhp).

Oh absolutely. Though I wasn't going to go and make a significant effort on a search for Vettes, but would only do it in lieu of the Camaro if one sort of fell into my lap or if I just found it by chance. The main contributory factor was that he lost his job too.

you can find a better deal on a Vette if you look around...if back seat isnt an issue just test drive the two of them and listen to your heart...and congrats on your new vette..lmao |

You can get a new 09 vette for 42k...base model which if you don't have use for the backseat then I'd get a 09 base model vette in a millisecond.

Vette... if the backseat isn't an issue I don't know why there is even a question.

Drove a 2007 LS2 C6 w/ 4500 miles on it and....
...I honestly wasn't impressed. Maybe my expectations were too high. The acceleration wasn't what I'd expected when I ran through 2nd and 3rd gear. Though I was able to break loose making a right turn from a standstill, I think that was more due to gravel since I never took the traction control off. The steering was a little heavier than I'm used to, but it did handle well once I got used to that. The clutch let out a little high on the pedal, but was very clean on let out. The shifter had a lot more movement to it than I'd thought it would though. With the interior...while it had the HUD and Nav, the pushbutton start and all that stuff, the interior overall was nothing that a 40k car should have with its cheap flimsy plastic that rattled. The removable top creaked and made cracking noises as well. The fit and finish on all the Camaro's I've seen in person was FAR superior to this Corvette (tech stuff aside). So for those that have driven both...hows the acceleration and handling on the 2SS relative to a C6 LS2? Is it comparable on the butt dyno?
