Pioneer Radio Owners In Here Please (Esp 4660nex)
Hello,
I recently switched from a Kenwood DMX7706s (with PAC unit) to a Pioneer 4660 nex (with idatalink maestro). I am running apple carplay wirelessly through the pioneer. Music quality through the apps is great. However, siri, phone calls, text messages all sound very poor where it's hard to understand them. I am running the latest firmware on the phone and radio, have tried unpairing and re-pairing, and even reset the radio. No change. Is there something else I can try? I didn't have this issue with the kenwood, so I am figuring it's either the pioneer or the maestro, but I am really at a loss at this point. Anyone have this issue? Any fixes or things to try? Thanks! Last edited by DMan918; 05-28-2021 at 09:56 AM. |

could be a phone issue. reset the radio and repair the phone. it could be a bad BT module in the radio

It’s not a phone issue. Worked fine with kenwood. I have an email out to pioneer for their input.

Id swap it out then. could be a bad unit. im debating a custom dash mod with the PAC kit for the oem style knobs for AC controls with the 9" modular radio

Did you swap out the microphone? I was told to specifically use the microphone which comes from the specific manufacturer. I know it's a pain to rerun it, but that might be the issue.

I am using the pioneer mic that came with it. That being said, I've been told that it is hard to hear me only when accelerating, so it's obviously just picking up my exhaust. I have it by the rear view mirror, so I may try relocating to help with that. The bigger issue is that the voices through my speakers are incredibly tinny and almost fuzzy sounding, and its very hard to understand anyone speaking. Is there any chance there is a setting that I needed to reset in the factory radio for some reason? Or maybe something with the maestro? |
