How long for new key?

I made a deal on a 2014 2SS/RS and we agreed to my trade and did the financing paperwork and told I was approved. I was told that they could not give me the car until they got the new key recall done. This has been two weeks now. I currently drive a 2013 LT which has not had the recall done.
Does this sound right and how long to get a new key? Seems like two weeks on a sold vehicle is getting a little long. Anyone else have this problem?

Seems to me others have been able to take delivery of the car without the new key, my friend got his with the switchblade key, and didn't even have to sign one of those papers saying that he voluntarily declines the recall (if there even is one). He got his 2 weeks ago this past Friday.

Our dealer had to do the recall before they would finalize the deal. We got off easy as they got us keys in 3 hours, but it was a 6 hour ordeal of a day.

Most will not allow delivery without the fix for liability reasons.

i can not believe that they don't have enough parts to take care of this, we had a stop sale on a car at work and it was no more than a few days until it was corrected, and yes, it is a stop sale, otherwise you could take the car ( for all the readers, not doers out there)

Seems strange that you cannot take delivery of your car. Just tell them that you will bring it back when they get their $h!t together.

It took 3 weeks to get my car. They finally had to get a key from another dealer.
Good luck

I know this sounds a little hasty, but I had to tell my dealer that I needed to reevaluate my options because the key was taking so long to get in. After I told them this the next day the key arrives. I waited a little under 2 weeks until the dealer finally got the keys in.

I was in the same boat...I bought a new 2013 Camaro LT RS and was told I had to wait for the new keys...I called GM multiple times and they told me they cannot legally deliver a vehicle with an active recall. In total, I waited 12 days from the time I signed the paperwork to when I took delivery. Sucks but it's the best feeling when you pick it up! Hopefully you get the car soon! Here's what my replacement key looks like...

Is there a separate fob?

BTW: They're stopping CTS sales until they fix this:

But what stinks is the normal key they give you rather than the cool original one that came with the car.

Thanks everyone. I called GM and they said three more weeks. Dealership said there going to remove the switch blade and let me have the car until they can get the keys. I should pick it up today.
