OK just checked. no lug nut wrench, only an air pump and fix a flat. no spare either ...

I have the V6, doesn't only the V8 come with that ?

The spare tire kit is an option. I have a v6 with the spare tire/jack/wrench

Those are chrome cap sockets that have swelled up from corrosion. When I worked in a tire shop I would dremel an "X" in the end of the cap and rip it off with needle nose pliers then screwdriver the rust flakes off. A 22mm would fit after that.

Or..
You could use the magic 22.5mm socket you mentioned before:

Lol I knew they made a 22.5mm

Anyway, I finally got it to work.

Went to sears, no 23mm sockets again, was told craftsman does not make them

I told him I broke my 23mm craftsman (on a socket) he didn't care

Went to an auto parts store, bought a 23mm 8pt and a 23mm 12pt

Oddly enough, the 8pt was too tight, the 12pt 23mm took it off!

Threw all lug nuts in trash, only using the gorilla lug nuts for my aftermarket snow wheels tires

Hey thanks! I think you hit the nail on the head, and are exactly right.

Between the 22mm, 23mm, 7/8, 15/16, they all fit slightly different.

So I will chock it off to cheap chrome caps swelling, corroding, expanding, shrinking, whatever I don't care. They are in the trash now.

He drives a 2lt withe rs package. There are no spare jack or lug wrench. They have compressor that contains a tire sealer.

Thanks. I knew the spare tire was an option since my window sticker on my 1LS shows that under the "options" column on mine, but I didn't know you don't even get a lug nut wrench if you get the standard inflator kit.

Back in the military, the noobs got sent off on all kinds of missions. One of my personal favorites was to send them off to the tool locker to find a 2/3 inch wrench.

Of course, they also got sent to the treeline to locate and return with a TR- double- E, or were tasked with using a ball peen hammer to carefully check the Bradleys for soft spots.

22mm works fine for me. I have the 20" rims but I can't imagine it would be any different.

Kind of funny, if I search the internet for the most unbelievable thing ever, guess what. It's not a lug nut problem.
