Threading Shifter

I love my 2015 Camaro RS 6spd.I hated the shift knob.I bought a slip on one from Auto Zone but the set screws would loosen.Today I decided to use a die and cut threads to put on a Hurst shift knob. This is what I did.
1-Cut about an inch off shifter length so boot would still fit
2-Used small grinding wheel to get shaft down to 1/2" (largest Die I could find)
3-Used Die set to cut threads.Vise grips used on shaft to hold steady during thread cutting.
4-Screwed new Hurst shifter on.Works great and has the vintage look I like.
