Radio differences 2011 vs 2012 model
Is there any difference in any of the Radios in the 2012s vs the 2011s? The dealer I visited said the PDIM wont work with my 2012 because of my radio. is this really an issue?

I call BS but i dont know 100% i only know that the 2012 display shows the fan controllers on it.

It could be that you just need to update the software in your radio for the PDIM to work.

He could be getting confused because there was a new PDIM hardware version out that according to Chevy was only for 2011 models and up, but after user tests, it was found that it works with 2010 models as well!

You might want to ask your dealer if they've successfully installed the PDIM on any 5th generation Camaro. It sounds like this is their first time

That is absolute BS, I have the basic stereo in my 2012, and I put in #22872777 and it works perfect. The stereo just needs to be flashed to recognize the USB. The Aux is like a regular home stereo, designed to recognize external inputs.

The 2012 shows you what mode you are in.
 I think that is kind of nice that it does that, as when you first get the car, you need to learn the controls. This way you know of the AC is off, and such.

That's kinda cool. I wonder if a software update on the 2011 radio would activate that feature.
