LGX Engine ticking normal?

1lt rs with tech pack and a8 mbm

700 miles and she's had a ticking sound under the hood since I got her at 12 miles. No check emgine lights, funny smells, signs of leaks. Debating taking her to the dealer this Sunday :/

Any LGX owners experiencing the ticking while the engine is running?

The ticking is a normal. Its a result from the direct injecting. Nothing to worry about

Buy a UPR "catch can" as DI will produce lots of "blow-by".

On a test drive I heard the same sort of ticking in a '15 Silverado 5.3L with direct injection. I know it's normal, but certainly don't like it.

really? And connect it where? I've looked and I dont see any external hoses that look like pcv hoses. I've taken apart the intake up to the throttle body and it's bone dry and perfectly clean. So it would be great if you could identify where such a can should be installed and the oil it would be catching.

DI is not the cause of the blow by. Its just that DI doesn't clean the blow-by like port injection does.

Still, this assumes there is blow-by to clean in the lgx. I've yet to see any evidence of it.

All I've seen is GM saying the lgx has an improved oil-air separator mechanism (somewhere) that performs 3x as good as the lfx's.

Nobody has identified where a catch can would be installed yet much less if it's even needed on the lgx.
