This time of year in Arizona it's normal to layer clothing, we typically have 35°F temperature swings between high and low. For Camaro driving I like a 1911 in 10mm, Galco vertical rig. I live near wilderness and we have large predators as neighbors, who also like to walk on the property too.

If I lived somewhere a coat was a necessity I would absolutely be a 1911 in a shoulder rig. Hell maybe even double 1911's....

But I was wearing shorts and a T shirt today... lol

There are 2 types of bullet wound cavities. Permanent and Temporary. The permanent cavity may be impressive with frangible (although shallow which is by design) however there is nearly no temporary cavity as compared to hollowpoint. The temporary cavity delivers the shock to the attacker and their organs and nervous system. (The temporary cavity literally expands the attacker's flesh inside them causing huge shock and a large energy dump. The temporary cavities of many high caliber rifle rounds are larger than a man's chest while many pistol rounds are the size of a football). Either round will likely be fatal in the end, but I'd rather have the round that gives the better chance of stopping the attack sooner and with more punch delivered.
You're opinion/explanation about crush and stretch cavities is incorrect as related to handgun service calibers. The whole opinion about energy dump from a service caliber is a myth and it has nothing to do with wound trauma incapacitation.

There are five ways to incapacitate an attacker during a lethal force encounter;

1. Fear
2. Pain
3. Destroy the brain stem
4. Sever the spinal cord
5. Lower blood pressure (either destroy the heart or let a lot of blood out).

This is a subject better suited for the gun forums.

Only accepting customers thru next Tuesday, 10 Feb, for our March 19-22 Sniper Experience! This course is open to civilian and LE/MIL! We had this course in October 2014 at the Legion Operator Base in Georgia and can't wait to be there again for this course! Here is what an editor that tested the Caracal CS 308 had to say (click on link or copy and paste link url):
http://www.tactical-life.com/fi…/sne...cs-308/…
The March course is a four day Sniper Experience that includes not only long range precision shooting out to 2,500 yards but moving targets out to 900 yards!! Elevated shooting platforms, a stress range and an aerial platform (helicopter) training. We will also include carbine (AR-15 / M4) training. We will supply all the carbines with select fire on most rifles.
This experience is very unique! Everything is included including lodging (log cabins), training, meals and drinks. You may purchase your ammunition from us or bring your own.
Please click or copy and paste this url for more information and to register online:

Also if you are interested in a 1/2 MOA 308 gas gun or precision rifle message me. We are building weapons for the public now. We have had great success for the government agencies and now selling to the public. Here are some of our weapons for a government agency that came out to Arizona for training on their new weapon platform. Each "person" choose the length of barrel, gas or bolt, color, etc.
