Your rwhp is in the ball park. The torque numbers are down.

I really am having a hard time understanding why people keep saying the torque numbers are down.
They are almost the same as many postings on the l99 dyno thread with the same mods. Maybe it’s because the dyno chart is zoomed in on so it looks like a bigger drop then other ones. |

My SS manual trans, before the S/C had Kooks LT headers and a ported intake and dyno was 414/rwhp. See additional mods below for present 546/rwhp and 522/rwtq.

My L99 with CAI, LTHs, hi flow cats and a local tune turned 394RWHP on a dynojet. Pretty happy with the improvement. Was a pooch stock and will smoke the tires now.

Here's what mine made with LT's, rotofab intake, ported throttle body, Solo catback, and NGKTR6 plugs.
You're in the ballpark for horsepower but like everyone else said the torque numbers look low. Gears and a stall will make the car faster, but won't gain any hp on the dyno.

You’re right about where I was and I had the exact same feeling. I had Kooks LT, xpipe and exhaust with roto-fab CAI. I think I was at 373 after tune. So disappointed. But, just keep throwing money at it. You’ll get it there.

There are several cold air intake brands on the market. Which should I look at for both price and quality. I did install a K&N on the Buick. It was not expensive and easy to install. Is this the Camaro CAI somewhat the same? |

This is my first dyno experience so I am no expert by any means. Only telling what the tuner showed me. Would love to know what ypu guys think. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm not saying your wrong. I have 2 Mustang buddies ..one is fbo 427 rwhp The other is bone stock....went to a dyno day at a different shop. ....425 rwhp haha. Over the years its common here for a longtubes....cai ...tuned l99 to put down 365 to 375 rwhp . Thats the average. Mine is long tubes...ported tb...cai .....3 inch exhaust wit a stall and gears. 370 to the wheels. Nobody is getting anywhere near that without headers.

i think what it really comes down to is what are trying to accomplish?
imo everyone seem's to be preoccupied with numbers(not just here). maybe because of the megga HP numbers that new cars have. i guess i'm kinda old school in my day a 11 or 12 second car was not very streetable and 10's on the street no way.so if it runs 12's and is daily driven i consider that quite respectable.maybe that is for another discussion. |
