Nice! What all did you have done? My mods were from multiple sources, and I was out of state when I ordered them, so I just chose to have everything delivered to my home. For instance, I got the 3.91s from Janetty (will be ordering from them in the future for sure), the trans cooler from ADM, then the Nittos (NTO5R) right from Nitto, and the 18" wheels came from AutoRimShop, and...they sent me 2 different color rims so right now I am trying to un-fu*k that issue. Anyway, there it is. I marked each box with whats inside and just took it all in. They were happy I took that extra little step to make it easier for them.

They did my total build. Most of the highlights are in my sig. Lots of parts are needed to get this stuff done and I would be concerned about a mix match of stuff I bought versus stuff they supplied and installed. Could get messy down the road if there is a problem.
If you’re doing a cam install there is so much more than just the cam itself. Best of luck with the build she is going to be a totally different car. It’s never enough!

Hey all, finally an update! Went to the strip today, 61° and sunny over in Bowling Green, and all systems go for my run. I ended up with a 1.5 '60 and an 11.32@120mph, and with that, made the Fast List for 1/4 mile Camaro SS Internal Mods plus Bolt-Ons with stock displacement!
Thanks again to the guys at GPI, and to everyone on Camaro5 thats helped me get where I am; couldn't have done it without all your expertise!

Thanks! So I am at 3,775 lbs right now. If I get mufflers, that will probably put me back over 3800. Planned is a CF hood from VFN, smaller brakes, and Welds. That should knock off some weight while also setting me up for a 15" wheel.

I would think with those changes you'll be close to that 10 second slip. That rotational weight will go a long way. What RPM does it trap at now? Maybe you can tune the tire diameter a little when you go 15's to get all you can out the back.

I hope so. I can launch the car pretty hard as it is, but then when it gets up and going, its just never enough power and leaves a lot to be wanted. Don't get me wrong, its good but I just need more. I don't know what rpm I am trapping. It shifts into 4th at 95mph though.
How do you like those 4.10s? How do they feel and drive compared to the 3.91s?

If I have ball-parked everything correctly then you should be trapping at like 6550rpm@120 in 4th. Ideally, you'd want to get your average power up higher for that gear - meaning trap at a higher rpm so your average power from beginning of 4th till the finish line is higher. With a cam like that ideally you'd trap over 7000rpm, maybe more like 7400. A 4.10 would cruise though the traps about 300rpm higher at the same mph, 6850, assuming it didn't pick up any mph. But, that 4.10 is going to help the car the whole way down the track, and I wouldn't be surprised if it picked up a few mph. Lets assume it picked up 3 mph, that would trap at 123 @ 7060rpm. Sweet! If you got to the point where the car was getting too much RPM at the trap you could step up to a 305/45/18 and get a little more there. What RPM are you shifting at currently? I target 7300rpm with my setup, and you've got even more camshaft that I do. I guess it depends on how far you wanna go with stock lifters - assuming you didn't upgrade when you did the cam.

Ryan set it to shift at 7300 and drop down to 6000 when it upshifts to keep it in the sweet spot. I need to get the tach and speedo on video or something while making a pass, because when I do passes I tend to focus only on the track.
And yes thats correct, it locks up near the end of 3rd. I have the 305/45/18 on mine. Those are the ones Prostockjohn recommended. GPI replaced the lifters, springs and pushrods when they did my cam. Those and more were all included in their cam package. Someday I want to go to a solid roller like Ryan. Are the 4.10s fairly streetable? What are your Rpms like on the freeway?

For the M6 car, there is no doubt they are the way to go. With a NA 6L80 car I would think they are a good option as well. I'd go over your data yourself and make sure it's not going to be too much RPM out the back, but by my math with that tire and a locked converter it should be just about 6600rpm out the back, 300 more than you've got now. Whether or not that's a worthwhile gain for the dollars is up to you.

I'd like to experiment with 4.10s but what I need is more power and less weight. If I get the Whipple, a 4.10 gear might be a little insane. I know what I want, its just gonna be a while before I can get there. All the supporting mods are gonna be $$$$$. I need forged internals(Callies and Wiseco), a custom grind blower cam (Comp Cams), a Futral built 6L80, a DSS driveshaft and some 1000hp axles, and hopefully thats enough of a drivetrain for a 650-750hp car.
So thats all the wishlist and dream talk. Heres a little project my 9 yr old son and I did at home. I took the idea behind the CAI cold air intakes, and came up with this. Lined the inside AND outside of a regular K&N air shield and now the compartment with the filter is drastically cooler than before! Just a quick trip to the hardware store and $5, I cut the pieces and used adhesive, then let my son tape the edges (which are peeling a little). Not the prettiest, not professionally done, but very functional! Just need to get that silly washer bottle relocated, and a plastic tube instead of that heat soaking silver air tube!
