I can't remember what video it was, but I remember it being said that to use no pressure when claying as it can cause micromarring.

Some people refer to a glaze as polish, but a glaze fills the swirls, not removes them like polishing does.

A cleaner wax has some amount of polish in it so most people stay away from them.

A wax is a protective layer that goes on top of the clear coat. Some people wax their car for looks because waxes can fill minor imperfections making the surface appear more "polished" .

This is a good thread to look at.

Very well said. I concur.

Good decision. It'seems a must have tool with a black or dark color car.

Just still don't know why it looked like that?? The car has never seen the rain but once.... And it is garaged kept... I make sure there is a fresh coat of wax on it a few times a year. I even get underneath the car and wipe it down..... Lol!
Doesn't sound like you did. Just need a good polish to remove it. Hand polishing will only get you so far.

You should only use light pressure. Clay has no abrasive in it so it shouldn't hurt it. There is 2 types. Yellow and White. White clay works best. Seems to be a little more aggressive in taking off overspray, tree sap, so on. I use a soapy water to lube the clay. Seems to stay wet longer.
