Question about installing headers by myself
Hey guys, I finally got a set of kooks headers yesterday and im planning on putting them on this weekend myself but ive heard about two things that im a little confused about and thats the gaskets and the clamps that connects the cats. Ive heard that the gaskets that come with the headers are poor quality so should i get a set of gm gaskets or reuse the stock ones instead of those ? And with the connectors are those good enough or are there other types of clamps that are better ? Thanks in advanced for the help

For the gasket don't use liquid sealant. Some people reuse the ones they took off but I said why risk it over $24 and bought new OEM ones off Amazon.

Reuse the stock gaskets or get a new set from the parts counter at your GM dealership. The clamps are fine. Get someone to give you hand and it will be a whole lot easier.

Get new GM Gaskets for sure, better to pay the Extra $30 then have to even remove the bolts alone to put replacements in.

GM gaskets all the way. I reused mine but at the time I had miles on the lower side on the car. I guess it would depend on that whether or not to just grab some new ones.

2) The connectors are fine. *3) Get some anti seize for the threads on your O2 sensors, should you ever have to remove them. It is really cheap and can be found at your local auto parts store.

Remove your spark plugs. A broken plug can be insidious..
