Centerforce Dyad Opinions

Time for a new clutch and I am looking at the Centerforce Dyad. Anyone care to give feedback on this setup?

I am looking for a clutch that can handle my hp and have limited amount of chatter (or non at all).

Thanks for your opinions.

Don't even bother at your hp level. I ran through 2 of them at 700rwhp and they didn't want to warranty them.

I just installed a pretty pricey Mcleod RXT HD. It’ll handle anything you can throw at it, but combined with my 110 cam, there is chatter coming out of first gear sometimes. I thought I was paying a premium to have the best of both worlds.

Tried a Manic failed quickly, Dyad and the weight system failed during a high rpm shift, clutch gripped okay at 800+rwhp, but you cannot slip it if you drag race or it will burn up quick due to using standard fiction disc, it has to be dumped pretty much.

I would go with a RPS Triple carbon and be done with clutches, they last a very long time, can be slipped, dumped or whatever and take it with no problem, I haven't had to mess with my clutch since adding one 2 years ago.

Thanks for the feedback. Interesting the Dyad doesn't like to be slipped, but prefers to be dumped. I haven't heard that previously.

The triple carbons are about 50% higher in cost, but agreed may be more durable under regular stress.

I have heard the McLeod's are really good clutches but can have a small bit of occasional chatter.

I'm also considering upgrading the flywheel to a lighter weight aluminum. Any recommendations or warnings about doing that?

I have the Street Slayer twin disc carbon, it has the aluminum flywheel. I get a little chatter in first gear taking off with my cam but nothing you can’t get use to after driving it some. It grips very well.

I have a monster lt1-s twin disc thats rated for 700/700 and made 905whp last time at the dyno. Multiple low 10 second passes at the track and drives like stock. It was installed may 2015 and still going strong. Their triple will take anything you can throw at it and will have stock like pedal feel as well

I would personally go with a monster lt-1 triple, it will hold 1150 rwhp and torque, plus it comes with the master cylinder, and talking to monster it will drive almost like stock( price difference is about 450 after the slave cylinder, and they currently on sale on a few sites)

This. Mine lasted less than 2000 miles. It worked well until it didn't any more.

Rather than continually replacing clutches, I went 4L80e. Best decision ever, for drag racing. Not as fun to drive.
