Nitto Invos?

Has anyone tried a set of the nitto Invo on their ZL1?

God no. These would be my choices:

Michelin Pilot Super Sports
Pirelli PZero
Continental Sport Contacts
Bridgestone Pole Positions
Hankook V12's
Vredesteins

Nitto Invos to me would be a second or third tier tire. But frankly anything would be an upgrade from the GY tires when it's under 60*.

I plan on getting a set at the end of summer. Hankooks don't come in the right size, and finding the proper overall diameter as the stock tires the pickings are slim.

I've run all of the above on either a ZL1, CTS-V sedan or 300C SRT8. All of these cars have one thing in common......they are stupid heavy. My 300 tipped the scales at 4,444 lbs. with me and fuel. The tires I've listed do a great job of handling the extra heft while delivering good feedback and performance.

But bar none, the Michelin Pilot Super Sports are the best tires I've ever had. There is a reason why they win damned near every head to head test they're in. Mine cost just under $1,300 after rebates so really made the choice easy for me.

The tire of the moment is the Michelin PSS. Great grip and still looking new at over 10000 miles. These came stock on my 13 M5.

There is a thread on m5 post about how the heck they grip and last so long. I'm sure I have an easy 5k miles left on them.

Let me know how they work out for you! I was going to put some on my SS but then I traded her in on the ZL1!

I am leaning towards the Michelins but I have heard good things about the Nitto Invos from some other car gurus and was just curious!

When you upgrade from a tire to a better tire you always think you've discover some new tire magic. I was a slow adopter on the Michelins thinking that a damned tire can't make that much of a difference. I couldn't have been more wrong. With most ZL1 tire sizes costing north of $1,100 per set, another $200 to upgrade to Michelins was a really east decision to make.

I can tell you that the Michelins are better in every way than the GY F2's. They have a longer tread life, are quieter on the hwy, won't slide all over the damned place in the cold and are planted and predictable in every situation I've put them through so far. Plus upgrading to a 315/35 rear gave me better off-the-line grip than the stock 305 GY's.

Michelin PSS are miles better than Invos. Get the PSS if they are available in your size. The 345 wide Invo's on my vette like to spin in 2nd - 4th at any rpm above 4500. 4th gear, 125 mph and the tires break loose, not fun.

Thanks for the information! Seems to me that the few people that have run them with 500 or more WHP say they can't handle the power and aren't sticky enough! Looks like it's going to Be Michelin PSS for me when it comes time!
