aftermarket v8 exhaust on v6

So i cant figure out why a v8 exhaust wont fit on the v6, the mount points are same location. what am i missing? why would i pay more for a v6 version when the 2010 camaro v8 and 6 are the same frame design underneath.

gimme yer 2 cents guys...

thanks!

As far as I know any cat-back for a V8 should fit on the V6, although you might need to adapt to the larger pipes as the V6 pipes are 2.5" between the cats and h-pipe and a cat-back for a V8 may be larger.

Thats what I thought, the v6 cats are 2.5" just like the v8's. 2.5 down to the H pipe then 2.25 to the rear from what Ive read.... just doesn't make any sense to me to pay hundreds of dollars more because its made for the v6, when its the same application.

I should probably clarify before someone calls me out, from the CAT back, will fit without additional mods like pipe size increaser/reducer

I can understand someone staying with gm parts but id never get rid of my stock to put back yet another heavy stock part. these damn muff cans are stupidly large.....not much better for the ss cars either with that mid system setup

The ZL1 NPP has Quad Tips, that's why people are doing that. They aren't interested in the over all weight of the car.
