Any luck having stock exh replaced with GMPP for warranty issues?

Has anyone lately had any luck having their exhaust replaced with one of the GMPP's by the dealer for free or $100-$200 extra for a warranty issue?

I have a rattling coming from my left muffler and have troubleshot it down to the loose internal baffle issue.

First I called the dealer I got the car from and have previously taken it to for a couple of minor warranty issues and oil changes. The service rep said he's seen a couple 5th Gens come in before for the loose baffles but has "tried and couldn't" get the GMPP put on instead of a replacement stock system. He seemed to think GM would just have them replace the muffler.

I called another dealer and that service rep had never seen the issue before and actually had to search for and find the applicable TSB while I was talking to him on the phone. He said the TSB said to "replace the exhaust system". I asked him if that would be just the muffler, or the entire cat back and he said "the entire cat-back" as they "don't do welds". I asked him if they could put on a GMPP exhaust instead if I'd pay the difference to which he replied "I don't see why not, I just have to check with the one guy over me tomorrow".

So what do you guys think? I know I've read of a few guys upgrading when the whole system was replaced. It seems like most guys haven't had much luck when they make the request though. Does GM have the policy that only the bad muffler will be replaced and those that have upgraded have "creative" dealers? Or is it entirely up to dealer.......some don't mind and others just can't be bothered?

I'm taking it to the 2nd dealer tomorrow after work for them to verify the baffle issue. Curious to see what the "one guy" over him said.

Won't do it :(.

They both gave me the same answer.....GM won't allow them. End of story. Guess I'll be staying with stock for the replacement.
