Halo headlight turn signal idea???
Hello everyone...so recently I've been having this idea but I'm not sure if anyone has done it or tried it before! On the 2014 with the RS package, you get the halo headlights which area also daytime running lights. When you use your turn signal, the halo cuts out leaving just the indicator illuminated. NOW I'm sure all of you are familiar with switchback turn signals (if not I'm sure google will help you out with what they are). My idea is to have the halo headlights act as turn signals instead of cutting out. obviously you would need some sort of color shift halo which wouldn't be a big deal because you can easily install those and have them be amber colored. But does anyone have an idea of how you could have the halo wired to act as a turn signal and when you use your indicator, the halo headlight would just turn to amber and blink like a normal blinker.
The idea comes from the newer model audis. if anyone has seen them the daytime running light turns amber and acts as the indicator once the turn signal is engaged!! HOPE THIS MADE SENSE! any ideas on how to go about trying that or if its even possible with the wiring in our camaros?! |

If you keep your fog lights on, your halos wont go off when you use your blinker.
Also since last time i checked its not that easy to change your halos on a 2014 vis a 2010-2013. If you look we dont even have a full circle halo, its two seperate pieces.

I've thought the same thing. Having the halo turn off with the signal just looks like it's broken to me. The new Cadillac CTS also has DRLs that switch from clear to amber for the front turn signals. It's pretty slick, much better than just killing the DRLs.
5thgendiy makes a harness that keeps the halos on with the signals. Maybe if there was enough interest they could design a kit that turns the halos amber for the signal. I'd definitely be interested. |
