Vinyl Bowtie Black Outs

Ok. so this was my first attempt of ever touching/working with vinyl. I ordered the bowtie cutouts from Xmicro_SS right here on Camaro5. He is very professional, answered all my questions and had a GREAT price for all his products. If you are thinking about vinyl for your bowties he is a very good source. He also has many other vinyl products like hood spears and stripes etc. Check out his thread http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41388 and also http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40063 . He sent me the solutions to work with as well. The back one turned out very well. The front one was very tricky because it comes to a point in the middle. I tried it the first time and totally f@#&$^^ it up. lol The second time i did a little better, but there is still a little crease in the middle. Oh well, if it really really bothers me I will order another set of bowties and try again i guess. Anyway, i think they look good and I cant wait till my taillight covers get here and it will look very nice.

Here of some pics of the finished product....please don't be to harsh on critiquing my vinyl skills, or lack there of lol

looks good!

I have xmicro's overlays on mine too...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Better quality than some others that I've seen.

I think I'll be ordering a set of these myself. Thanks for the post B. The tiny blemish on the front bowtie would drive me nuts...I see another bowtie order for you in the near future!

I just got my bow ties from Xmicro yesterday. I plan on having someone tint the windows soon and I think I will ask him to put on the bow ties at the same time. I'm afraid I'll screw them up. I figured the tint guy should have the correct tools to do it right the 1st time. Yours looks good but I would redo the front one that would drive me crazy.

Putting vinyl over the front bowtie is a little harder than the rear because its angled more. However, do a wet application and heat the material using a hair dryer and it will conform to the shape. Use a oversized peice and trim using the grove between the gold and chrome when done.
