Unfortunitely our German Shepherd doesnt get near the car. However in my wife's truck no problem. Our GS moved around too much and the in sides would get scratched.

Right. If the dogs are coming along any where, we take one of the trucks. More space for them and less chance of any mess or damage. That said, I've seen lots of "car seat" solutions for dogs at both PetCo and PetSmart.

my dog is NOT allowed to sit on my seats . I put a blanket on the passanger seat and he sits there. He's a good boy. Doesnt shed either but i dont want his dirty paws on my seat. I feel bad sometimes because he likes to look out the window but I wont let him because I dont want him to scratch my door lol #paranoid much. Its funny how i can see his mood change when we are walking towards the camaro but when he knows we are going in the old car he gets excited lol

I have a Boston Terrier and Pug that we occasionally take the beach. I got a car seat cover on Groupon. It's basically nylon tarp with straps. I kind of tuck it into the seats so it doesn't move around when they are back there and it seems to work just fine.

My dog gets the back seat to himself and I put a sheet down to catch the shedding - has worked great for my last two cars but leather is a must

That's an awesome idea. Every dog I ever had liked a 'cave'- under a table, etc. But they like to stick their heads out the window almost as much as I do, so...

Back Seat, Harbor Freight Blue Moving Blanket, then fold seat back up hold it in place. Cheap, thick, protection. Shake it out between your pooches rides.

I have a buddy that used to wear “if you’re dates a dog, get a vette” shirts.
