New ZLE

Hi all,

It looks like I’ve got a new ‘22 manual ZLE coming in any day now. Just wondering if there are any substantial issues with these since l sold my ‘18 ZLE.

Seems like a gigantic number of pages posted since the ‘19-‘21 models. I hope there will be no major issues.

Look forward to spending more time here soon.

JJ

Just remember to wear your mouthpiece at all time because of the teeth rattling suspension is super firm.

My 2019 has been bulletproof, but of course its a 1SS1LE, not the ZLE.

Curious, what made you leave and what made you come back?

The first thing I recommend is swapping the stock GY3R tires to something more streetable like Michelin PS4S. The softer sidewalls of the PS4S will make the ride way more bearable for the street.

I ordered the PS4S tires and had the dealer swap it for me before delivery. Went the next day and took the stock tires home in a different car.

Reserve the stock GY3R tires for track days only...wrapped around another set of ZLE spec wheels like those from Apex.

Instead of adding a ZLE, why don't you trade in your 911T for a GT3 or GT3 Touring? Best of both worlds in one car and seems like you're a Porsche fan. GT3 will definitely have much lower track running costs with less tire wear if you get a set of 18s and run Pirelli slicks.

I'm more of a power junky (Drag racer at heart) but enjoy spirited mountain drives and hoping to do more track time. The TTS is just so awesome and does everything so well. GT cars are just too dang expensive and hard to get (esp. now in this market).

I personally don't think I'd want a softer sidewall if I ordered the 1LE. I think I'd rather have the firm setup that I paid a premium for.

PS4S's are NOT soft...lol

They are Very very capable for track use and very aggressive mountain / canyon runs.

They're just a better over all tire compared to most anything for the street.

I have had PS4S tires for years and swear by them for everything except drag racing, but the truth is they do have a softer sidewall. Not soft per se, but softer than the Goodyears.

Having driven both the SC3s and the MPS4s I’d never hit the track with the MPS4s. The SC3s are in a whole different league on a road course. I do prefer the MPS4s on the street though.

Oh yeah, I know what ya mean... I just didn't want him to think it wasn't a good handling tire. I have them on TTS and they're amazing in the mountains and track.

Cup 2's are obviously better for track use..

Oh, for my AWD they don't do too bad for drag racing either. I went to the Streetcar takeover event this year and had a blast.

But they're softer than the OEMs, which kind of defeats the reason for getting the 1LE, right?

I have a buddy that bought a Type-R and then put all-seasons on it. It just seems that you buy certain types of vehicles because you want certain characteristics that it does well, only to reduce the very trait that you bought the vehicle for. Which, I get it some people buy these types of vehicles as their daily drivers, but it's like buying a track weapon to do Uber Eats.
