I now have a 2011 2SS/RS and it also has a knotchy second while driving it cold. You really have to keep it tightly against the leftmost position of the gear while shifting into second to keep it smooth an not hear the grinding of the lost synchro-mesh. It's important when a manual tranny (especially one with short throw shifter) to drive it easy when cold to let things warm up a little. That's why them extra guages come in so handy! ;')

I will post here my only gripe about this amazing car, is that my dashboard doesn't quite meet up with the door where the light strips are at. My 2010 2LT was perfect, this one is not. Also the hood is not quite lined up perfectly when closed, but this is an adjustment I will look at this spring. Other than that, I love this car! I am averaging 18 Liters per hundred in city driving. (13 MPG) I am going on a road trip tomorrow to the country, so I will see what I can pull on the highway.

Happy New Year to all!

The perma-grin effect pictured above by a good buddy giving me a ride in my Camaro!
Used 75 Camaro = $3500
Rolling restoration over 10 years = $5000
$5 of gas burned in 10 seconds = Priceless!

4 qts of Royal Purple Synchromax and the M6 trans will shift a bit smoother when cold. They all are notchy when cold, the RP helps. I've owned many Tremec cars from new and they all did it, and swapping to a good synthetic helped them all.

I'd get that '11 IOM, you'll love it. The only thing I would check is the spoiler to trunk gap to make sure it is not chipping the trunk. Except for the HUD and price, it's identical to a late '10. Most of the improvements were made after the early '10s.

I CAN accept problems, as this is just a car. I do love how well built the car is, very tight inside and out. BUT since I NEVER beat it badly, I am just PATIENTLY WAITING to find out WHAT GM and its dealers WILL DO about the clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, and rear end problems.

In 2 DAYS my car has been at the dealer for ONE MONTH. I did tell them to keep it as long as they HAVE TO. I just WORRY that something else happened. I have been on MANY CAR forums in the last 5 years, and heard of many horror stories of what happens at dealers. I kind of wish I just filed bankruptcy 6 months ago when my unemployment lapsed. TAKE IT AWAY. Then I dont have to keep worrying.

I HOPE you DONT beat your car at all. Because I think you WILL have problems. I HOPE you have alot of $$$ so you can spend $5,000 and put a REAL CLUTCH, PRESSURE PLATE, REAREND AND AXELS IN IT.
