times have changed my friend, this country and people in general are on a down slide and it's only going to get worse. We have turned into a society of "it's all about me" we just don't care about each other and the good of mankind. Our nation and our form of government does. it have much time left, maybe a 100 or 200 years, time will tell, heck even Rome fell and we wi too.

Our club hits a lot a shows and everyone is correct by saying most people are rotten today. There are some nice people out there you just got to keep looking and demand respect from the asshats that give you crap especially if you show a new car. In my personal experience I feel the vette guys are the ones with the worst attitude.

It kind of sucks going to the cruises usually my wife and kids come along well get something to eat, depending on where it's at, sand spend time together since I'm not in a "click". The car friends I do have are mainly racers and don't go to these one works nights, one has been building his broke engine for 3 years, and the other just never really goes. So I think it is the decline of people in general which in reality can't expect much anymore.

Heres the probelm. Lets go back to Harley Davidson back in the early 90's. All of a sudden it was cool to be a Harley owner so every body with some bucks started to buy them. There goes the type of people that drive them. A biker was a biker before and you knew what you had. Change the mix and it changed alot. Now lets talk about muscle cars back in the 70's. All of my friends had some sort of muscle car, Ford, Chevy, Pontiac it didn't matter. We didn't e mail each other asking if we thought what car could out race the other. We did that on the streets every night and it wasn't about I drive this and all your cars suck. We were friends and it was fun. Fast forward to the Camaro 5th Gen. All of a sudden wow what a cool car. Bring into the mix some people with money that want to be part of the muscle car scene and that's great. They for the most part race on this web site with what ifs and and if its not a Camaro you drive you suck. You see people want to be part of things they don't really understand or appreciate and that is why they are the way they are. And as some have said on this thread it doesn't stop at who drives what it is the same in everyday life. Enjoy the ride!

LOL, you beat me to it, not trying to be an A-hole either.

You guys should all join Derby City Camaro Club, nice group of Camaro owners!

Actually my car show experiences this year have all been pretty good, guess I am lucky so far. I agree about the gov't being messed up though and will it ever end, not soon I am afraid!

I agree but what I've found with a lot of these car clubs is that they are not the "Elks," 'Lions," or "Knights of Columbus." I think the expectation is that because they are car guys or girls everybody will be cool and accepting. When people find out they are not, they are somehow amazed?

I find it funny that lately the quality of owners seems to be in decline usually you expect a type of car to be under that category but now it seems the age of the crowd being the factor since it's becoming a younger bunch. Hell even the mustang guys were sociable, I know I'm grumpy but maybe I'm getting old and grumpy. I just remember back in the day no matter what you had you always were social even if you gave others s#!t you just didn't act stuck up, unless it was a Honda no one likes Hondas. Anyone else run into these type of people?
If you are getting the cold shoulder at just a single event or a few events, don't worry about it too much. If it is a car show event (vs a cruise-in), the reason could be that the event is geared toward classics or antiques and that bringing a modern vehicle to it doesn't fit the show's intent ... some folks may be accepting, but you may get ignored or worse by others.

If it is recurring event, either ignore the cold shouldering and continue to enjoy the event, or find another. Go around to the other cars and show interest and talk about their vehicles (not yours) to demonstrate that you are a car guy and that it isn't all about you and your car. This may help break the ice with them.
