New pads and Rotors

Installed new pads and rotors on the front over the weekend. I used Auto Zone's Carbon Fiber (Duralast) GT1474 Pads and their Duralast Gold High Carbon Steel (7200706) rotors which come with a Z-clad coating. Love how easy it is to change the pads and rotors on these cars. The last pair of pads lasted me 31K miles. I used Power Stop Street Warrior brake kit which came with Carbon Fiber Infused Ceramic Brake Pads and slotted rotors. I would have gotten them but I needed to do the brakes as the front right wear sensor was touching the rotor. Did not want to wait for them to be delivered. YES, I cleaned the calipers off before mounting the wheel/tires.

mlee I love the wheels that you have I think they really pop on your car. The white engine cover and sway bar you did really looks great too. I do like the picture that you had taken of you (I am guessing) lunching at the drag strip.

Waxed my Baby today

Washed, compounded and waxed it today took a bit over 4 hours and detailed inside as well. I first used a detergent car shampoo soap on it, then I compounded the car twice using 3M Perfect-It EX then I applied the wax by hand and removed it with a buffer. I used Meguiars Mirror Glaze #26 Professional Hi-Tech Yellow Wax. It has Yellow Carnauba wax in it that is why it is called Yellow wax can be used on any color car or truck.

Haven't had that car in a couple years now but it was definitely my favorite with the wheels and all. Next one in on order, so stay tuned..

I bought one for the passenger side from Becky (Becky had it painted for me at the dealership) when she worked at Rodgers. Cut off the blank that takes the place of the key cylinder. Then used my Dremel to remove more of the plastic on the backside of the cover to except the key cylinder head. Just go slow so that you do not burn the outer paint or go through the front of the cover. To take the cover off hold the handle open and use a small screw driver to pop it off. Here is a video on how to do it. https://youtu.be/saSvYn-xd6M I did not take the door handle off as he did (watch at 2:48 mark)
