I would never consider trading a classic like that for the current one.

Where do you get $17k? The LS7 costs about $8k more than an LS3. Are you saying the brakes cost $9k more than the SS brembos? I seriously doubt that.

Yes, the CC will cost at least 9k more then the Brembos. The cheapest CC brake option you can get on any car is on a Porsche Boxter and it's a $7400 option...and they are not 6 piston calipers...or the size of bass drum like on the Z

I completely agree if u are a die hard or avid car collector I can understand but to buy and use for track use way too over priced for the package

The new Z/28 will be the King of the Road once again, and it will have the engine that we wanted, and the suspension that we wanted, and the interior that we wanted, and the performance that we wanted. So what is the problem?
Its important to remember two major things. One is that this is not 1969. This is 2013. Chevrolet has worked hard to build the anticipation and prestige of the Z/28 brand, and they didn't do it for charity. They are a for-profit business and they are not going to donate high performance track cars to the general public. Its their King of the Road with two missions: first is to dominate magazine comparisons to build their brand and second is to make a profit to build their business. They are priced at the market price, and they are worth every penny. On the bright side, there are other options. The 1LE smoked the Boss 302. The ZL1 smoked the GT500. The SS is better looking than ever and the LT is still awesome. However personally, I think I'll be looking at the new Stingray before I buy a Z/28.
