Get a funnel and pour it back in the fill line...make sure it doesn't have metal flakes in it!!!! Best bet is use this experience wisely and get new fluid...

You better leave the fluid changes to the profesionals if you cant tell a oil pan from your Trans. . CALL a GM dealer.

1. Don't drive it. Don't even start it.

2. I don't know if the A6 has a dipstick, but you need to find out how much fluid you drained. Each transmission has a fill procedure...some of the ones I worked on could be filled right through the dipstick. If that's the case, buy some proper fluid (there are different kinds...watch out...) and fill 'er up.

3. If all else fails, just have the car towed to the dealer or to the nearest shop that can fill a transmission.

DON'T start the car, and DON'T drive the car unless the fluid is within the normal, specified level.

Well shit.

That means the fluid probably has to be pumped in from underneath. If you're not keen on how to do this...I'd just have the car towed to a shop.

The engine ran fine, I dropped all the oil and refilled it with the proper amount and ran the engine again and it ran fine, I think I only dropped about three to four quarts out of the tranny

HUH? you changed the oil but its reading high after a change? are you sure you got all the old oil out? and put in 6qts, also reset your DIC oil% to 100%

I agree, I think you should just have it towed. There is a way, at least for the 6L80, to refill it by snaking a tube from the engine bay down to the fill plug. This process is easier said than done.
