For a thousand dollars more I’m getting my damaged L99 motor completely rebuilt with all new forged internals, with my choice of a blower cam and LS3 conversion and all new valve train, the weakest link in a L99, Melling pump, ARP bolts, etc. I’m having all the labor done also, by a reputable performance shop in Southern California. PM me if you want additional info.

THanks for the info. I ended up putting another L99 in. A new crate engine from Detroit installed by Chevy Dealership. I am breaking it in now.

...$7,860 dollars later.

Not Detroit:

The L99 is assembled at GM’s facilities in St. Catharines, Ontario and is solely used on the 5th-generation Chevrolet Camaro SS with the automatic transmission
