Wow what a beautiful car. Thanks Scott and the Camaro team for doing such a great job on my dream car. Can some one Photoshop the picture to make it Silver Ice with CGM stripes thanks.

Historically I believe most all of the stripe packages or stripes done aftermarket have always been done passing the hood. I believe GM decided this time not to go over the hood is because of the fake air induction scoop (aka mailslot) in the front. Lining up the vinyl over the hood scoop would make the job a little more difficult which is why a design that stops at the hood-line was created. In my opinion the new design doesn't look bad, however it will take some time getting used to it considering all previous iterations look normal to me while this one does not.

Ok..I've looked at every image from the show...

1. There is no image there that shows IF the stripes head on top of the spoiler. All they show is that the stripes don't head over the lip and onto the back of the spoiler. I wouldn't expect them to. They would stop at the highest point on the rear lip spoiler - and there is not evidence that they do not.

2. Thank you Scott for pulling out an SS/RS with stripes. I'm happy with my decision to get them now.

3. This is my car except two little details. I killed that ugly sun roof (my opinion) and got it in the better shade of red...RJT

Very excited to see this. Can't wait for March to see what happens with the builds. I'm number one allocation at my dealers so I expect to see mine before fall.

I hope the ambient lighting question will be answered by Scott some time in the near future. It's not a make of break issue for me, but it would be a break my heart issue if it isn't there.

Stripping is always good! I had no idea you could order it with your car.
Just messin' with ya, Mike.

The car has the RS package, so they should be the MS wheels, besides the polished aluminum look like chrome and these don't.

The longest they could be, and still look ok, would be up to the 'mailslot'.

But stripes should never go all the way down the front and back of a car. There should be a definitive BEGINNING & END to the stripes (ie- end of the hood is where they begin and end at the edge of the trunk) otherwise they look stupid.

EDIT: IMO The Bumblebee stripes are exactly how stripes should be. The blue 3rd Gen shown above is how they should NOT be (imo).

So then you feel the stripes introduced today should go a little further down to the mailslot and not stopping at the hoodline in order for it to look good?

I don't think they MUST go further to look good. I think they look good as is, but going further just past the mailslot (like Bumblebee) would look good too. Maybe a little better.

I'm a self-proclaimed stripe hater, but these stripes on the 5th Gen actually look pretty good to me.

Asked my wife this question:
"Honey? Is there anything you want to talk about before I get my new Camaro?"
The implication? When I get my car, I'll be spending all my time in the garage or outside.
She said.

Gotta second that. I always thought that stripes, no matter what, looked terrible when they go all the way down the front. Until I just saw the blue 3rd Gen with the white stripes here. WOW, Lucky SOB!

I'll probably have my own design put on mine but it does look good here. This car is so HOT I don't think you can mess it up anyway.
