I retired early and sold 10 weeks of vacation, sold 6 weeks of sick time, and took a cash advance from the Texas Municipal Retirement System to pay off the house in 2005. I've sold about half of the firearms collection and bought my Camaro with other cash I've saved. I don't have much income, but I don't have squat for bills. Moving to Florida soon - property taxes are MUCH cheaper there.
