Installed ZL1 Spoiler

First I want to thank Maureen at Rogers Chevrolet. The quality of the paint is outstanding.

The installation is rather easy, I maintained the integrety of the stock rear deck lid, i.e. no new holes drilled used existing holes and used an easy effective method for covering exposed holes. This way I can revert back to the factory SS/RS spoiler.

The ZL1 spoiler looks awesome. One of a very few on an ABM Camaro.

It’s quite simple. I used plastic serrated plugs (see inside your trunk where plastic plugs hold the insulation to the deck lid) when Roger’s Chevrolet painted the ZL1 spoiler I had them paint 3 plastic plugs. When the spoiler is in place the exposed holes are not easily visible, you basically have to bend and look for them, once in place the plugs blend in quite well, the heads are quite flat, with a little weather-strip adhesive you have a water tight seal and they can be easily removed. It’s really doesn’t look bad, looks factory.

Example of a plug:

That's correct. The holes sit so low under the tail light they're hard to see unless you're up close to the car.

My only concern over time and how really well sealed they are. Probably use some good adhesive sealer and would be fine

Sounds good. Not going to mod the tar out of the trunk lid so hope there is long term fix one way or the other that works.
