The unit was 13 1/2 years old...... no idea how about tonnes/sear. I'll have to find where I stashed the paperwork.... The old one has had an issue each summer for the past 3 - 4 yrs and finally the compressor locked up. I was just tired of screwing with it. My next door neighbor's company put the new one in. Same Rheem unit comparable to what was in there. Not sure if they were the cheapest, but when shit goes bad I get immediate service and they don't charge me labor. That unit runs my upstairs zone..... Everything else I upgraded at the time we bought the house was pretty much a waste of money, but I can tell you I am sooooo glad I bought 2 zone heat/AC. At least until they both blow up.....lol

at least you get prompt service! And basically 98% of the units out there use the same copeland compressors. SO internally they are basically the same. Electronics vary though. Rheem is good. I'm doing mine next year, but my brother owns a HVAC company so I'm getting the equipment through him and installing myself. (Used to do HVAC work for my dad)

That's cool!!! yeah, its nice having that kind of asset next door. My neighbor across the street also just got through school and is working for another local HVAC company....so I have some pretty good contacts around here.
