Talking Boston Acoustics ! Speaker Problem

I got my Driver side speaker changed for the 7th time ! and every time i go to the dealer and ask him to find out what the problem is they dont take it seriously and just change the speaker ...and after lets say half a month or so ..
the driver side speaker starts giving *how can i put this* a sound like its blown or something..!

Any one having the same problem

is it the wiring

or the amp

you don't want the new amp.....it puts out less power to the front speakers. You'd be better off keeping your amp and upgrading the speakers

How high is your bass setting? Try turning it down if it's up more than 1 or 2.

I took mine in and they replaced the entire system, but I do agree the amp puts out less power. It's very obvious!

Hey sorry I took so long to respond. I'm not positive it's a less powerful amp but definately turned down on the amp itself. The system sounds like it has little to no bass. I haven't taken a look at the amp. If anyone has, I'd be interested in their findings.

New amp and speakers have bass eliminators installed. The still blow. The company that made the amps is now out of business too. Sound quality with the blown speakers is better than the sound quality of the replacement parts.

That is why I went aftermarket after the 3rd time.

My passenger side speaker is also blown (starting to sound like crap on certain songs). I don't even play my music very loud (nothing like I did when I was younger). I also don't want to listen to my music with the bass turned all the way down? This is supposed to be a premium system, yet its no where near as good as the systems I've heard in similarly priced cars.

But its a Camaro SS and I can except the fact GM saved a few dollars when deciding on a system for the car.

So I'm definately looking into the aftermarket (and like I said I don't even listen to my music very loud = disappointed)

I found a great set of speakers that I'm waiting to install. Santa is bringig my signal processor so I'm hoping that will fix some of the other issues with this system.

I've noticed I've got static pop's coming back yet again with my ipod plugged in......... I'm sure that is what killed the speakers, I'm just not sure if it is from the PDIM or the crap amp/speakers or a combo of the three.

It's frusterating that I could have saved the money from this Upgraded BS System and finished my system off a long time ago. Live and learn I guess.
