Talking Mike Norris Motorsports Is Here For Y'all

Hey All,

I was informed about this new site by a couple of my longtime customers and I have been lurking around for a short while to see how the site operates as well as how the menbers react and work with each other. So far it seems to be a very good resource for folks with the 5th Gen Camaros to say the least. As a paying sponsor to LS1 Tech and the Corvette Forum for a very long time I can say this site is on a good track so far.

With that said I could not see any reason to not become a member and help folks where I can. Quite a few folks in the LS powered world know who I am and what my shop is about. My LSx performance experience started at the local Chevy dealer when the C5 Corvettes began arriving in 1997 and moved to me opening Norris Motorsports in 1999. Since that time I have done performance upgrades to several LSx vehicles from the C5 and C6 Vettes, 98-02 F-Bodies, 04-06 GTO's, CTS-V's, G8 and so on as well as several high end Pro-Touring and LSx hybrids. Heck, I even have a 1948 Bentley Mark VI Saloon coming in for a G8 6.0 and A6 paddle shift swap So you can see that I am not just a new upstart looking to jump into the LSx world. Beyween myself and the folks I work closely with we have all the resiurces you need to make anything you can imagine become reality.

So the move to the new 2010 Camaro SS is a no brainer. I have a Maggie 2010 coming Sunday for a tune. Another coming for a Maggie install in 2 weeks as well as a few American Racing header installs. I am also working with another shop is Palm City called Extreme Performace to bring a nice Garret Twin Turbo to life as well as a custom gauge pod. I also have a nice cam swap package for folks.

This also marks the 10th anniversary for my shop so there will be some nice discounted packages to folks on everything from headr packages to cam swaps to Magnacharger installs. I also plan on having a car show, free dyno day and BBQ in the not to far future.

As far as the shop itself, I have my own inhouse dyno and HP Tuners tuning software. I do also do some traveling from time to time to different cities by request. I will be in Ft Walton Beach the weekend of Aug 7-8 as an example is anyone needs anything while I am there.

I also get car brought to my shop from all over the Southeast US and it is very common to see cars from the Carolinas, Georgia and Alabama.

You can check out the website at www.mikenorrismotorsports.com for some more info. The new 2010 Camaro area is not ready yet, but my new site should be up in about a month with a lot of 5th Gen Packages for sure. As an example of pricing, my inhouse chassis dyno and driveability tune starts at $395 for a naturally aspirated vehicle.

I will be posting pricing on some packages for everyone in the near future for sure. Please feel free to contact my via e-mail at thevettedr@aol.com or by phone weekdays at 407-616-2518.

Here's to a great site so far

Thanks for the info. Please keep me (us) posted when the car show will be. I'm in Jax but I'm looking for someone with experience to service/fix my car in FL. I'm in the process of installing twin turbos in Ohio with Intense Racing.

Shops are always welcome. It is good to see the continued participation of the aftermarket in this hot Chevrolet.

No relation that I know of and not to Chuck either Trust me, I have heard it all.

Jchaluja, good to hear from you and hopefully the twins work out well for you. Our system will incorporate a pair of Garrett Ball Bearing turbos that are coolant and oil cooled, Precision custom intercooler and a custom oil scavenge system. They will be mounted in a conventional low position and similar to an APS design. If we do an over the counter kit the base price could be in the $6500-7000 area of the top of my head. It just depends on the custom intake and pressure hoses needed. Time will tell.

As far as the car show, we are looking at around the end of August for a get together which will include a car show with trophies, BBQ and free dyno runs for folks.

Thanks again.

Hey Jon,

Thanks and I may have a few things you may be interested in

SlingShot,

The V6 has some very good potential and I will be looking into it for sure. Asong as HP Tuners supports the V6, I can tune them. As far as performance, I can see a single turbo option for sure.

Thanks again!!

I would be quite interested in the gauge pod, if by that you mean NOT the 4 pack that is in the 2SS model.

Something custom to mount 2-1/16" gauge(s) would be great.

Update to this.

Just bought the PCV catch can from Mike, and talking to him on the phone he knows his stuff and will not try to over-sell you.

Hey SoloSK71,

Thanks for the catch can purchase for sure

The pod will not replace the 4 pack but be an additional pod for 2 or 3 of the 2 1/16" gauges. I do not want to say too much until the prototype is done.
