So next week I am going to be ordering new tires. I am going with 315/35/20 and 295/35/20.

My question is I see there are 3 different types of the super sports, K1, K2 and the super sport 4, what is the difference and what should I go with... Im at 670 to the rear wheels.

It looks like they all have the same ratings, and I heard that the K1 might have wider channels?

I don't remember which is which, but with the K1/K2's, one is 1/2" wider tread and has 7/32" tread depth (IIRC), while the other has the narrower tread width, but has a deeper tread depth (10/32" ?).

The SS4 is a newer tire I believe.

You should be able to go to tirerack .com and compare them.

Don't know about the K1/K2 or SS4, but the new Pilot Sport 4S is an incredible tire which does everything better than the old Super Sport which is being phased out. But nothing wrong with the Super Sport if you can get a good deal. Just make sure you read the date codes and aren't getting old tires right out of the gate. Old tires are drying out and getting hard.

I can only find the 4S in 295/35/20. And yes there are so many different types of these MPSS. Kind of confusing.. For the people that have the MPSS which ones did you get and what size...

MPSS K2's here, 295 front, 315 rear. Been using them for 4 years now with no issues.

Completely stock except for a Rotofab CAI.

Plenty of grip for me, it's a DD during the summer. I have had it on a road course a few times, but only in the beginner classes.

Well, definitely not the best tire short of a D/R for straight-line traction. They're very good, but not the best. Try a R888R if straight-line traction + corner handling is your goal. They're a more extreme tire in general though. They have hum, wear faster, and don't handle water well.

It's a game of trade offs. There's no one size fits all when it comes to tires. If you want to be able to drive it year round, rain or shine, back roads and drag strip, you'll have to compromise.

MPSS and MPS4S do everything "Well" but they don't do anything the "best".

Yeah like I said I don’t want a drag radial. I want a 315 in the rear that is good in all areas. I think the MPSS might be the one. Just want as many opinions as possible with people that have had the tire.

I bought a set for my 2013 Grand Sport and liked them a lot BUT even at 400 rwhp they would get loose pretty easy. I would look at the R888R's if I still had that car. I'm very tempted to go with the Toyo's on the ZL1 rather than DR's. Haven't decided yet.

The MPSS will fulfill that roll. I've run them on 5+ cars over the years. But at 650 RWHP or more you will smoke them easily if traction control is off/unable to keep up.

I don’t think r888 come in 315/35/20

The MPSS is a summer tire. No temps below freezing or they are likely to crack and come apart. If you want a Michelin all weather performance tire, the AS3+ is a really great tire.
