2012 vs 2010ss

I have a good friend that knows his cars pretty well...jumping in and out of an M3 bmw while test driving he noticed how much different the 2012 was than a used 2010 on the lot. He said he thought the '12 car may have handled a little better than the '10 but he said the biggest difference was the attitude of the suspension. The 2012 seemed more composed.
This was test driving down around the Houston area.

Good observation on his part. The 2012 models have some suspension updates.

The 2012 cars did get some chasis/suspension tweaks which would have helped.
But, it would also be interesting to know what kind of miles were on the 2010 car...

Chevrolet has made a number of refinements to the 5th Gen. Some are running manufacturing changes that you can see. i.e. more rubber in the sub-frame bushes. They have improved the damper map making it a bit more aggressive especially on the bound side. The relocation of the rear sway bar and a slight increase in diameter create a substantial change in sway bar bias. These and other changes do make the 12 a better car.

Having said that, an all out full build suspension on a 2010 compared to a full build all out out 2012 would be a virtual dead heat.

How does the 2012 ride over broken pavement, bumps, & stuff compare with the 2010?

I would describe it as more composed with a bit more road feel.
