The way my agent told me to do it is to take photos of all the additional items before installation and again after installation, keep ALL receipts and buy an addition to your policy. He also told me that my coverage would be more easily honored if necessary if I had an aftermarket company do the work rather than do it myself... evidently so they get to question more people as to what was done.

Imagine if they had a fire extinguisher on the firetruck instead of taking the time to hook up the hose and wait for the water.

Totally agree ... That's why I invented my fire extinguisher bracket so I don't have to rely on the fire truck .

And around 50 people out there have bought them so far ... So I'm doing my part to minimize the risk!
