Z28 was a beast. All indications are this is gonna be a beast. Seems like a
Z28 to me. It's gonna handle well, have lots of power. Yeah, it could be a
Z28.

It seems this conversation is like asking if the ZR1 should have been called the "Blue Devil Edition." That was the internal code name, not something considered for production.

Exactly. Seriously, who the hell would call a car an HP Edition.

how do you know its gonna handle well? the z28 wasnt a supercharged motor. it was a stripped down race car for the street. and it only had a 302 in 69. even look at the 4th gen. it was a srtipped down car. this s/c car needs to be called something else and the z28 should be a 7.0 or a DI6.2 lightweight and compete against the boss302. THATS a Z28....not this s/c thing.

wrong.
The Z28 was a track car. It had suspension upgrades over the SS.

This new car has magnetic ride suspension. Which leads me to believe it is made for handling.

This is utterly false. I had a 4th gen Z28 and it was loaded.

I agree with Milk on that , but what baffles me is why would they give the Z such a high hp rating when its never been a big motor/big hp car. I dont mind the fact they are going to give it so much power , it just seems odd is all.

Yeah, but I don't think HP should be the sole factor in determining whether or not it should be called a Z28. Times are very different in business and the automotive world.

It had everything you could get which was WAY more than the base model.
It was FAR from stripped as you indicated.
