Va Beach is a long way to go if he's in DC. Try T&T Performance in Frederick, Md. They are a Camaro5 site sponsor and have a very good rep.

I drove to North carolina to do my cams there. they are not that special anyway so I'm not thinking to go back to them. I have another guy in MD told me he can do the work, I dont know if he have enough experience though. he did not work on a camaro before. he work on his Viper though it has over 1000 hp. |

I recommend T & T also and Tim can hook you up with the Whipple as well. He does great work. He installed my cam and headers recently and I am very pleased with it. The GTO guys have had great results with him as well.

I'd have read in posts that Ted from Janettee has made a few calls to see if some out of area shops know their stuff or not. You might want to try that. I'm in Arlington, VA so let me know where you go and how they do. Good luck!

I have called couple of shops, everyone one of them is recommending something. I'm so confused. I asked about the turbo some of them says makes power but brakes a lot, you can make the most out of them. others says you cant drive the car as a lot if it has a turbo charger, it cant handle DC traffic. one of them said he dont recommend the turbo for manual transmission, i dont know why he said that.
the guy who installed my cam said if you want your car to live more, you should build the engine if you are going more than 700 rwhp. what do you think i should do 1- turbo 2 supercharge 3 pro-charge what do you think guys should i go with 1, 2 or 3.. im looking around 700 to 800 rwhp |

as for me 3 would be the way to go! oh and 700+ is a lot you will need about 15k (maybe more) to get the intire car ready for that kind of HP. IE, Clutch Rear end S/C on and on.......

Getting top horsepower numbers is just as mis-leading as 400 watt Sparkomatic speakers. Do your homework. There is much to learn. A few items of note:
1) You are voiding your drivetrain warranty with GM. Are you going to a shop that covers their work? (I have a 3yr/36,000 mile warranty on my build). 2) If you do get a warranty, remember that they are covering ONLY what they install. Not the stock driveshafts you blew up after a massive burnout at 650 HP. 3) It's not as simple as tossing on a supercharger and digging on a 750 HP dyno result. Did you forge the internals? If not, you will eventually blow the engine up with multiple WOT runs at the strip. (Not to mention, your supercharger is under warranty while you search for a new engine to put underneath of it). 4) In relation to #3, anyone can put a different size pulley and increase the boost/HP to big numbers, but if not built right and tuned properly, see #3 result. 5) If you got the cash- Go see Lingenfelter, Jannetty, ADM, etc. They are the masters. Ask the right questions AFTER you read every thread imaginable on here. I think there is still a sticky that goes over everything about Forced Induction. 6) You get what you pay for. Going the cheap route usually turns in to the expensive route later on. As far as turbo vs supercharge? SC for me- TVS2300 Magnacharger is rock solid, been around for along time, excellent rep, instant torque (turbo not known for that) at lower rpm's where you do most of your driving. And it looks like a supercharger instead of an alternator on steroids.
