MBRP Exhaust Review For My SS
i've had my MBRP exhaust on my camaro for about a week now. The amount of head that i've made turn in the last week almost doubled since i got the car. The install for the exhaust was fairly easy. I did it in my drive way and took about 2 hours. The first start up was amazing. It sounded like a whole different car. The quality of the exhaust is spot on. The whole exhaust is polished and looked great installed. Tip and mufflers are very nice and shiny! I got the 304 stainless, as i was told it would never rust or discolor in any way.
Now as for the sound. it made the exhaust worth it. Stock Exhaust on any LS engine i feel is toned down severely. The start-ups are much louder and throatier then stock. I wasnt looking for the loudest exhaust but i was looking for a throatier, more mature, and no drone. This exhaust exceeded my expectations. I would most defiantly recommend this exhaust to all camaro5'ers. it really does feel like 426hp now http://www.************.com/mb304stcatba.html Here is where i got mine. 1024.99 -15+free shipping. not a bad deal in my opinion. |

No. $1000 dollars for better quality and performing exhaust over stock. And it's made out of polished stainless steel, which isn't cheap nowadays. Besides, it's not your money, so why do you care?
At least it's a mod that functions + sounds very good. I've seen people spend way more for a whole lot less.

I don't care. Everything I have heard about the stock SS exhaust is that is free flowing, just not very loud.

Well say whatever you want but until you own one for yourself and have to drive a car that is that quiet you will never understand!! I don't care how many people out there tell mr how good the stock exhaust is, it's heavy, bulky, and just plain ugly!! I got my MBRP exhaust, airaid cai, and diablosport tuner at the same time and it made a huge difference in sound, performance, and power!!! I love it and wouldn't get any other catback if I had to do it all over again! To the OP good choice, I took off my cats and went with the pacesetter 1 3/4 headers and with a mild tune simply used to turn of the cel it made 401/393 to the wheels, added the cam, fast intake and a pulley now it makes 481/453 not bad for small headers and stock heads!! My mods are in my sig and plan on getting the new prc castings and hitting over 500/470 hopefully!! Good luck with your build and enjoy your head turning sound I know I do!! Look me up in the cam video posting and you can hear what it sounds like with headers!!!

So Drone is not an issue with the MBRP Catback?

Catbacks (looks, sound, and weight) 1. Better looking exhaust (nicer looking tips, and you get rid of the big ugly mufflers hanging down in the back). 2. You get rid of a lot of weight. Aftermarket catbacks weigh a lot less than the stock exhaust (stock mufflers weigh a ton). 3. Sound - you get a much improved exhaust note. 4. A few HP with some exhausts. |

When stock it sounded great and had no drone. I now have headers and it still sounds great, but there is a little drone on the highway. I don't think it is bad, but the wife hates it. Says it hurts her ears.

I've had an MBRP catback on my car since I first got my car. It's a great system not cheap by any means and it does sound great even after 12000 miles. It does drone but only at certain RPM's like Jpizzle said earlier but it's still a great system. I also have Kooks 2" headers and HF Cats.

There is a little drone but no where near as bad as most of the others out there, however if you go with the cats, it tends to minimize it! I have the 409 and it look just fine and even Jegs has it for like 839, which is less than I paid a year ago! Quality is second to none and it actually is about 30-40 lbs lighter!! I had a hell of a time dragging out the OEM exhaust by myself and had no issues carrying in the MBRP box!! LOL just do it you will love it, thousands of people can't be wrong, however sound is an opinion but dyno results are proven fact!
