Decisions Decisions
I need help. I have found three cars that I want and a damn good price on all three.
A. 2012 2SS/RS 6MT 8400 MILES FOR $28,900 B. 2013 AGM 1LE for 39k w/nav, npp and RS package C. 2013 CRT ZL1 56k w/RS, nav, carbon hood and suede package. I cant decide b/c I could throw some serious mod money at the 2012. Please help me decide as I have to buy tomorrow for month end closeout. A, B or C. |

A if you plan to mod the hell out of any car you buy - especially to drag race it.
B if you like road course/auto cross or just want something medium/rare, affordable and hang out on the 1LE forum. C if you want to own a 580 hp factory car once in your life and always worry about where you park. Now I dont know where you are in your life, but if you want to impress the guys - ZL1, or impress girls just about any Camaro will do. They dont know wtf a ZL1 is. They just want to ride in any Camaro. Almost forgot - it's nearly always better to pay in full. So dont finance another 20k on a ZL1... ONELLY ftw |

On the B choice, is that a 1SS or 2SS. And hopefully it's not at a dealer in Virginia.

B or C, because that NPP is oh so nice.... haven't heard any aftermarkets I like better but that's personal preference. I haven't driven a ZL1 but I have to believe handling is better than the 1LE and there's lots of posts about how noticeable the difference is between a 1LE and base SS. Between B and C, I'd prefer the 1LE since they'll likely be as uncommon as ZL1s if not more so - at least in the original C5 body stye. You'll also have customization $ left over if ZL1 money is in your budget.

Well, you're about as all over the place on car and price as you can possibly be. The only advice I'm going to give you is this. If you can afford it, buy the car that you will be happiest with. Otherwise, you'll be settling for less than you really want and in my experience, will be left wishing you had just bought what you originally wanted in the first place.

I'd go with the ZL1, the most bad@ss ride for a Camaro, and you can easily add more power to get to 640 to the wheels and more. You got selective ride quality on the fly, the other two couldn't match that.

If you want to mod, I'd just get the 1LE. Suspension is already done, you'll just need to get the blower. Remember that the 1LE comes with the stronger transmission, half shafts and rear end so it will stand up to the added power better than the regular SS.
